Nora Markarian, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
My style is compassionate and candid. I aim to develop my client’s intuition while providing perspective. Understanding energy flow is subtle, yet so powerful, because everything we are and everything around us is energy. I go beyond traditional therapeutic goal setting, to open the mind to manifesting outcomes that my clients determine.
In making meaning of the journey, insight and understanding are the vantage points I offer my clients. The essence of what we, together, can do is induce a subtle shift that brings one closer to one’s true purpose, which promotes well-being and joy. In addition to labeling conventional feelings, I use a technique of selecting a desired reality and explore it at a core level, to bring it to existence. This work goes beyond positive thinking, crossing over into quantum behavior.
Prior to devoting myself to the field of counseling and the wellness of others, my path included media communications. I bring this experience to the therapeutic alliance to analyze and foster interpersonal relationships with my clients, while working through complex life situations and establishing the support needed to form an honest, collaborative working relationship.
I hold a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University. I organize and promote structured symposiums at the university level, where advanced techniques and scientifically supported methods of treatment are presented to raise the effectiveness of therapeutic counseling professionals. These events provide mental health counselors with best practices and continuing education to effectively treat the clients we serve. I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Long Island Chapter of the New York Mental Health Counselors Association, where we invite Long Island’s leaders in the field of mental health, who push forward with new practices to provide relief and advocacy for the clients we serve. These avenues of knowledge flow directly into my practice to provide the most current methods and resources available in therapeutic counseling. My specialties include communication, anxiety, confidence, depression and self-awareness.
Reach out to me to schedule a phone consultation, at no cost. I look forward to talking with you to see how we can unlock your untapped potential.
